The extracted RNA free genomic DNA from the bacterial overnight culture is internally biotin labelled through a set of many antisense primers (linear amplification by single primers!).

HYBRIDIZATION & STAINING

The resulting single stranded and biotin labelled amplicons are stringently hybridized to a set of highly discriminative probes that are covalently bound onto the microarrays. The biotin labelled DNA bound to the probes on the array is subsequently stained.

DETECTION + ANALYSIS

The arrays are scanned and analyzed by the ArrayMate™ or ATR03™. The reader allows a visualization of the array, analyzes the information and provides a concise result of the test. The presence of a dark spot indicates a successful hybridization. Alere Technologies software measures the signal intensity of each probe.
